Loyal Air New Zealand travellers will be excited to learn that the Double Days promotion is on now! Earn Double Status Points or Double Airpoints offer on eligible flights to earn your bonus. Book and pay for an eligible Domestic or International flight by 30 March and earn double the reward. The offer is valid for travel booked between 26 March 2026 and 30 March 2026, for travel between 13 April 2026 and 20 March 2027, where you would ordinarily earn status points or Airpoints. Book an Air New Zealand operated or qualifying partner flight and you could seriously bump up your Airpoints member tier status!
1. How To Qualify Double Status Points or Double Airpoints Dollars™
To qualify for this offer, there are a few requirements, so you must:
- Be a New Zealand based Airpoints member
- Register your choice of Double Status Points earn or Double Airpoints Dollars earn
- Book an Air New Zealand operated or qualifying partner flights between 26 – 30 March 2026
2. About the Program
Status Points are the key to progressing through the Airpoints program’s status tiers: Silver, Gold, Elite. Earn status points to climb tiers and enjoy benefits such as priority service, lounge access, seat upgrades and extra baggage allowance.Once you’ve earned enough Status Points within any 12 month period, your status will immediately move up to the next tier. You’ll receive your new benefits and an end of tier date. This date will be the last day of a calendar month and set for 12 months in the future, when your account will next be reviewed. The benefits of the previous tier will immediately expire.
In order to retain your tier, you only need to earn 90% of the Status Points of that tier. You can start earning these Status Points from purchases made after reaching your new tier status until your tier end date.
To retain Silver and Gold tier status:
- At least 50% of the required Status Points must be earned on Air New Zealand travel, eligible Star Alliance travel, qualifying partner airline travel or Frequent Flyer Status Boosts (Airpoints Gold only).
- Up to 50% of the required Status Points may be earned on credit cards, by your tier end date.
To retain Elite tier status:
- At least 60% of the required Status Points must be earned on Air New Zealand travel, qualifying partner airline travel or from Frequent Flyer Status Boosts.
- Status Points earned on eligible credit cards and/or eligible Star Alliance travel can count towards the remaining 40% of Status Points required by your tier end date.

From April 2026, the airline will introduce refreshed tier names, new and enhanced benefits, and the new Koru Black tier, created to recognise the airline’s most loyal members.
