Air Canada recently announced plans to increase their services to Canada’s capital Ottawa by almost 60 per cent! This will be done through additional services to popular Canadian hubs, schedule improvements to popular leisure destinations, and the resumption of trans-Atlantic services to Heathrow. These new services offer even more choice for Star Alliance round the world travellers who previously had to transit in either Newark with United or Montreal with Air Canada when travelling trans-Atlantic.

Beginning in March 2025 the non-stop international flights from Ottawa to London will operate four times a week with Air Canada’s fleet of Dreamliners. The airline has chosen to resume services to Heathrow for many reasons, one being that it is one of the world’s primary global gateways and a convienent hub for other Star Alliance partners. This offers customers easy connections to a vast array of 30 plus destinations across Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and Asia. The airline said they are excited to be servicing the continued demand for leisure, tourism and business travel, giving customers more convenient travel options to and from Ottawa.

Frequency

Starting from March 2025 flights between Ottawa and London will operate Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Air Canada will fly their 787 Dreamliners between the UK and Ottawa featuring a choice of three cabins; Air Canada Business Class featuring fully flat beds in individual pods, Premium Economy featuring larger seats with additional leg room and premium services, and Economy featuring complimentary Chef-inspired and designed meals, wines, and beverages.

Increased North American Destinations

As part of the airline’s commitment to increasing capacity to Canada’s capital, Air Canada is excited to add more flights to popular destinations with Star Alliance partner, United Airlines. Increasing key non-stop routes to year-round services and additional capacity to other cities are all part of the new Ottawa services.

North America Flight Frequency

Air Canada’s increased North American Destinations include Calgary, Winnipeg, Halifax, Quebec, Vancouver, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Tampa. Along with these Air Canada operated flights,United Airlines will also be increasing capacity this winter to Chicago and Washingto-Fulles. In total, the combined Air Canada and United Airlines U.S. schedule from Ottawa will offer Chicago, New York-Newark, and Washington-Dulles, all increasing to three times a day, while Washinton-Reagan will be once a day.
