Finnair Business Class Lounge Helsinki Airport
Prior to experiencing the new AirLounge with Finnair from Helsinki to Singapore, we visited the Finnair Business Class Lounge in Helsinki Airport.
With quiet a long ling greeting us at security, having Business Class priority saved us over an hour by skipping the queue. The Finnair Business Class Lounge is located near Gate 52 and is open from 6am until midnight. The lounge is accessible by passengers travelling on a Finnair Business Class fare along with oneworld Emerald and Sapphire cardholders. The impressive entrance is also entry to the Platinum Wing.
The lounge follows a very nordic aesthetic in the signature Finnair colours, making for a relaxed and clean environment. Arriving at 8pm, there were very few other passengers in the lounge. This combined with the large space made it very easy to find a private space to relax away from others. With the lounge separated into a few areas, this allowed for a good choice of seating options including cosy sofas, armchairs, private workstations, dining tables and high tables with bar stools. The majority of seats also had charging ports along with built in ports for the couches. This was a great feature as it made it easy to charge items and work.
After a long walk past all the various lounges and seating options, toward the back of the lounge is the feature bar, fully stocked with a bartender and offering signature cocktails. The bar was surrounded by couches, tables and chairs to allow you to completely relax with a drink.
The open kitchen allows you to see the chef at work with self serve food available across the bench. The selection good and was more than enough for the amount of people in the lounge at the current time. Options featuring nordic ingredients including potato and reindeer salad, make your own salad, pasta rigatoni, vegetable stew, meatballs and fruit. There was also a drink station with a selection of self serve wine and soft drink. Any additional drinks could be ordered from the bar.
A great feature were the several showers which could be entered using a touchpad on the wall outside the door. With up to date features and being extremely clean, the showers and bathrooms did not disappoint.
Overall, the Finnair Business Class proved to be a modern lounge with great features such as showers. With good seating options, a variety of food and drinks along with nice working spaces, the space felt very welcoming.
