Lufthansa’s New Premium Lounge at Newark Airport
Lufthansa has just welcomed guests to its new premium lounge in Terminal B at Newark Liberty International Airport, New Jersey. This multi-million dollar venture underpins Lufthansa’s commitment to its customers. It’s aiming to provide an elevated pre-flight experience, perfect for those travelling round the world wanting to stop in North America.
The Design
This new lounge offers guests a 600 square metre space to work, relax and dine in before their flight. The relaxing, modern lounge is fitted for approximately 165 guests and is a 25% increase in capacity from the previous lounge.
Catering to Lufthansa’s First Class, Business Class, HON and Senator passengers, the exclusive space is also offered for guests travelling on the airline’s partner groups that serve Newark Airport – namely Austrian Airlines and Swiss. Passengers on a Lufthansa Global Fare will appreciate Newark as a simpler alternative to the busier airports in New York.
Within the multifunctional space, guests will have a designated space for working and business needs. One-third of the lounge is fitted with functional community tables, all offering the option for wireless charging and power plugs, as well as wireless printing.
The remaining area is dedicated to an enhanced relaxation space, with comfortable seating options targeted to all groups. There are also two multi-purpose private rooms that offer a place for calls, meetings and space for children. Passenger’s will appreciate the urban elements of the lounge that create a modern and elevated environment to enjoy pre-flight.
The Culinary Experience
Taking advantage of the New Jersey food scene, Lufthansa has brought a selection of locally farmed ingredients from the region to the table. The lounge’s Bistro will offer a rotating menu with various fresh foods tailored to its New Jersey location.
On the Summer menu, you’ll find Jersey corn sweet bread with candied tomato jam and sourdough. Additionally, BLT sandwiches with mushrooms, bacon, crispy lettuce and Jersey tomato jam.
First Class guests and HONs are offered a private dining experience that features an a la carte menu of two appetisers, two main courses and a dessert.
On a Lufthansa Global Fare, Business Class guests will enjoy the Skyline Bar is the go-to place for refreshments of all sorts.
Positioned in the centre of the lounge, guests can indulge in a selection of cocktails, New Jersey craft beers on tap, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverage options.
Lufthansa’s new premium lounge offers passengers on a round the world fare a selection of culinary delights that add to the elevated pre-flight experience.
